FIR filed against BJP IT Cell Chief Amit Malviya in Karnataka, sparking political controversy

Latest Updates: A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against Amit Malviya, the person in charge of the BJP IT cell, at the High Grounds police station in Bengaluru due to his tweets about Rahul Gandhi, a leader of the Congress party.
As reported by news agency ANI, Ramesh Babu, a leader from the Karnataka Congress party, filed the FIR against Amit Malviya. The case has been registered under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 153A, 120b, 505(2), and 34.
Tejasvi Surya, a leader from the BJP in Karnataka, responded to the situation by stating that the FIR against Amit Malviya is driven by political motives. Surya emphasized that the case is filed under IPC sections 153A and 505(2), which pertain to promoting enmity between groups. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi should be considered an individual, a group, or a class. Surya expressed the intention to challenge the case in court and ensure justice is served,

Kharge questioned the BJP, asking them to specify which part of the lodged FIR against Mr. Malviya was motivated by ill intentions. He further inquired about the video's creator, the individual responsible for its spread, and those ensuring its significant presence on social media. Kharge emphasized his commitment to the people of Karnataka to curb the circulation of fake news.

Expressing astonishment, Congress leader Pawan Khera remarked that he found it surprising that only one FIR had been filed against Malviya. Khera accused the BJP's IT cell chief of manipulating truth, distorting facts, tarnishing people's image, and damaging the reputation of the country.
